Job Description

Safely transport students on designated routes while keeping the vehicle clean and on schedule.

Van Driver

Under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the van driver is responsible for the safe operation and general cleanliness of a district van or vehicle over designated routes within an established time schedule; to transport students to and from school, functions or activities as required. To also assist the Mechanics, as needed with duties such as but not limited to temporarily working as a bus attendant, general cleaning of transportation vehicles, pick up and drop off parts and to do related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

MUST INCLUDE: Cover Letter, Resume, Three letters of recommendation, 3 Professional references, including full name, phone number, and email address listed on the application, Two years of driving experience in a passenger van.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of a district van driving training program. Pass a Commercial medical examination. Be subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Maintain a driving record acceptable for coverage under District vehicle insurance programs. Licenses and/or Certifications: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license, for more than 3 years, issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles. First Aid Certificate issued by an authorized agency. Possession of PS Endorsement.
