Job Location: New Bern, NC
Job Duration: 3+ months (possible extension)
Shift: Mon – Fri 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST
Pay range: $19.93 – $21.35/hr on W2
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires excellent phlebotomy skills, strong customer service, attention to detail, and adherence to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Collect blood specimens through venipuncture, capillary, and other approved collection methods.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Obtain patient signatures and ensure specimen labels are accurate and applied in the patient's presence.
- Maintain required documentation and records accurately and on time.
- Follow all safety, quality, compliance, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Provide professional, compassionate service while creating a positive patient experience.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Support multiple locations and adjust to changing business needs as required.
