Security Officer Access Control Gate

As a Security Officer Access Control Gate in Janesville, WI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor entry points, manage badges and visitor access, and support routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible, provide outstanding customer service and communication, and bring an agile, reliable, and innovative approach that puts people first through teamwork and integrity.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTime Fri 04:30 AM – 02:00 PM Sat 05:00 AM – 06:00 PM Sun 05:00 AM – 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or team members by following site-specific access control procedures, checking credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, and responding to security-related concerns as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site contacts, documenting observations, and assisting with emergency response activities when needed.
  • Monitor doors, gates, delivery areas, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry, support orderly movement throughout the location, and report policy violations or suspicious behavior.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, sales floor, stock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to identify security-related issues, observe conditions, and communicate concerns according to post instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
