Security Specialist

Install, maintain, and repair security systems including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control devices.

Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of system components.

Configure and program system hardware and software according to department needs.

Test and adjust system components to ensure proper operation.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, wiring, and software issues.

Install and maintain low voltage wiring, electronic locks, card readers, CCTV cameras, and related equipment.

Document all work, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.

Respond to emergency service calls and perform immediate repairs when needed.

Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades or modifications.

Works under supervision.

Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.

Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.

Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals.

Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Security or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 3+ years of Security or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of Security or related work experience.*Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master's = one year) of work experience.

• Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and related systems.
• Proficiency with low voltage electrical systems and wiring.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure as it relates to security systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background checks due to the sensitive nature of security work.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $32.70 – $49.04
