Description

The City of Battle Creek and the Recreation department are looking for Recreation customer service employees! Recreation customer service employees are responsible for helping the guests and members enjoy their visit or rental. Customer service employees must be flexible and ready to assist in any and all areas, as needed or required by the Recreation Services Manager or Recreation Director. Customer Service Employees are under the direct supervision of the Recreation Services Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Greeting customers and providing helpful information about the facility in person and over the phone.
  • Take program registrations and make reservations on the registration software.
  • Sell concession items.
  • Set up & take down sports /concessions equipment.
  • Help enforce the rules of the facility.
  • Help with litter collection and ensure the cleanliness of court areas, walkways, and restrooms.
  • Some janitorial duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, customer service employees will have to stand, walk, bend, run, stoop, lift, etc. Employees must be physically capable of lifting 30 lbs, sufficiently, able to be active for an extended period, able to communicate with others verbally and written both in-person and on the phone, and must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
