Lead hands-on maintenance and repair of heavy-duty fleet vehicles to keep operations running.
Technician III
We're looking for a skilled Technician III to join our team and play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for the road. If you love hands-on work, solving mechanical challenges, and supporting smooth operations every day, this is the role for you!
What You'll Do
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on all fleet equipment, including on-site repairs (road calls)
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, and suspension systems using diagnostic tools and manufacturer software
- Document all work accurately, including parts used and labor time
- Review DVIRs and follow up on reported issues
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate repair needs and safety concerns proactively with supervisors
- Support fleet uptime goals and operational efficiency
- Participate in training sessions to grow your skills
- Wash or detail equipment when required
What You'll Bring
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ years of hands-on mechanical experience OR equivalent technical certifications
- Valid Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Experience with Class 4–8 vehicles and heavy-duty equipment
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather and follow safety protocols
- Strong communication skills
Preferred:
- Solid waste or transportation industry experience
- Welding experience and certification
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, reaching, bending, and lifting heavy equipment
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors and occasionally in loud environments
Pay & Perks
- Hourly Pay: $29.00 – $34.00
