Schedule gastroenterology procedures and coordinate with departments to ensure timely patient flow

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday Onsite Requirement: First 6 months onsite- Can become Hybrid after 6 months and successful completion of training

Location: Gateway Plaza

What Success Looks Like

Within 3 months, independently scheduling to full expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule patients for gastroenterology procedures in a timely manner

Notify the clearance and preparation teams as appropriate

Review referrals and ensure timely receipt of written orders

Verify orders meet compliance guidelines as part of quality assurance

Coordinate scheduling with other departments and facilities to support patient care

Ensure optimal utilization of patient facilities

Maintain related records, charge codes, and perform clerical and administrative duties

Communicate effectively via Microsoft Teams and Cerner messaging

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with Cerner

Proficiency in RightFax, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently as a self-starter

Team Environment

Onboarding & Training

Initial onboarding will include making outbound calls, focused on one procedure type at a time, to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Medical office experience preferred

Scheduling experience preferred

Knowledge of insurance verification preferred

Experience with Cerner scheduling preferred

General knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy, with the ability to accurately recognize and record requested examinations and diagnoses

Basic computer proficiency required
