Asphalt Plant Laborer

Position Overview
Our asphalt plant laborer will perform a wide range of general duties at an asphalt plant including but not limited to: shoveling, moving materials, and maintain good housekeeping while adhering to all safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies, rules and regulations of OSHA/MSHA and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
- Determines need for fuel, coolants, lubricants, ignition aids, and adds as needed; inspects, lubricates, and services truck and reports condition of vehicle to Supervisor
- Preparedness to learn dozer, excavator, plant loader, pit loader and pit hauler and any other mobile equipment associated to the quarry operation
- Sustains high degree of care and attention required to prevent injury to others in highly congested areas
- Maintains correct stockpiling techniques to ensure material does not segregate
- Responsible to stockpile proper product on correct stockpiles
- Assist the plant operator when needed. Remove dust from the dust silo. Clean materials under conveyors and plant areas. Performs general laboring duties when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.
- Education/Experience High school Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous experience working in or around an asphalt plant helpful but not required.
