Job Description
Ensure accurate receipt, storage, and shipping of materials to maintain inventory integrity.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting daily warehouse operations. This role ensures materials are processed efficiently, inventory is properly rotated, and shipments are prepared according to company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials and shipments.
- Enter receipts and inventory transactions into the materials management system.
- Prepare outbound shipments and required shipping documentation.
- Identify and report discrepancies between received materials and shipping records.
- Manage returned goods according to company procedures.
- Store inventory in designated warehouse locations and rotate stock based on receipt and expiration dates.
- Report short-dated inventory to management for review.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Pick, pack, stage, and deliver internal and external orders as needed.
- Assist with mail distribution, record storage, and retrieval processes.
- Follow all company safety, compliance, OSHA, and operational procedures.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Perform additional warehouse and materials management duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 6 months of materials management or warehouse experience preferred.
- Basic data entry and computer skills required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic math skills required.
