Essential Duties

  • Responsible for tending bar in a high-volume dining restaurant serving both bar patrons and wait staff; mix, pour and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables; keep work area and bar organized and clean at all times
  • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the evening. Ensure that your bank is correct. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite service
  • Must be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones which is dictated by business volume. Greet and seat customers, as required
  • Open bar facilities. Stock and set up bar for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, make sure all menus are stocked for all shifts, etc. As required
  • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner
  • Adhere to State Liquor Regulations, etc. Determine when customers should not be served alcohol
  • All job responsibilities need to be completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Handle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration, safety and know the right time to seek assistance
  • Alert manager of inventory shortages of liquor, food and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volume
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of previous work history/education required
  • Must have at least two years of bartending experience
  • Previous cashiering experience required
  • Current alcohol awareness training certification, preferred
  • Prior experience with RTP system preferred
  • Intermediate skiing/riding ability required for certain locations
  • Must have an excellent welcoming, guest service attitude
  • Must have a neat, clean appearance at all times, as per company standards
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC's Service Excellence standards
  • Must have Colorado approved Alcohol Server Training certificate or must attend a Colorado approved alcohol server training educational seminar within 30 days of employment
  • Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Communicate clearly in English both written and verbally

Physical Requirements

  • Must be minimum 21 years of age
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. (cases of beverages, lifting kegs with help)
