Job Description

Provide direct patient care on a neuro/trauma unit and support daily activities.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Portland, ME 04102

Duration: 3 months+ with possible extension

Shift timing: Start time 7:00 AM. End time 7:30 PM.

Position information:

  • Specialty: Neuro/Client/Trauma.
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36/48.
  • Weekend hours: Every other weekend.
  • Call requirements: No.
  • Float requirements: As needed.

Education & certifications required:

  • Required certifications: Maine CNA certification.

Unit information:

  • Number of beds: 26 (R6), 12 (Bean 2), 9 (IMC).
  • Patient ratios: 1:8, 1:6, 1:3 (IMC).
  • EMR: Epic.

Hiring profile:

  • Must have skills/experience: Acute care/hospital experience.
  • Preferred skillset/experience: Neuro/Neurosurg/Med-Surg.
  • Type of patients on unit: Neurosurgical patients (spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors), seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, joint replacement surgery.
  • Personality fit: Proactive team player with positive attitude. Work-focused.

Dress code:

  • Scrub color: Any.
  • Unacceptable attire: Must maintain professional appearance. No ear buds/personal cell phones. Will terminate contract related to this.
