Provide attentive dining service to residents in the Needham senior living facility

Lead Dining Room Server — Assisted Living/Independent Living

Job Purpose: The Dining Room Server performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dining Department and is accountable to the Dining Manager in the absence of Dining Manager. Dining Room Service is accountable to the cook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned by the Dining Services Manager.
  • Sets up the dining room and serves residents per established standards, including preparation and serving of coffee, tea, juice, and other beverages as needed.
  • Follows cleaning schedules, including cleaning work areas, dining room floors, tables, and chairs after each meal and after special events.
  • Reports supply or equipment needs, unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, loose fixtures, flooring or tiling requiring repair, and any conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin.
  • Assists in receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Follows all safety codes, infection control procedures, and sanitation regulations in accordance with federal, state, and facility standards, including bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials protocols.
  • Understands the facility's fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Upholds residents' rights and is committed to person-centered care in collaboration with residents and families.
  • Supports Wingate's commitment to "5 Star" service and continual quality improvement.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, and reports any known or suspected violations to the appropriate manager.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow directions and work assignments required.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks with frequent interruptions and work flexible hours required.
