Oversee daily stocking and distribution of hospital food supplies.
Materials Distribution Specialist
Performs the necessary functions of materials distribution in the Food and Nutrition Service Department including, but not limited to: inventory, transfers, adjustments, stocking, picking, returns, requisitioning, order filling/delivery, supply accountability, sanitation, patient safety, and customer service using computer, or other necessary systems for Med Center Health.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience
Previous institutional or fast food kitchen experience preferred.
Previous experience with inventory control and distribution preferred.
Education
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
None required.

- Inventories and maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of patient nutrition care.
- Stores food and supplies in correct containers and in proper storage areas according to department guidelines as indicated by non-spoilage of food.
- Maintains records and logs documenting storage temperatures of perishable food items on a daily basis.
- Dates, labels, and rotates stock according to procedures as indicated by oldest product being utilized first.
- Orders food and supplies based upon product specification as established by Morrison ordering protocols and procedures and based upon patient care unit PAR levels.
- Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies and equipment to safeguard employees.
- Transports food and supplies in appropriate containers or vehicles as indicated by food or supplies arriving safely and intact.
- Follows HACCP guidelines when receiving and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply. Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment. Reports needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used.
- Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the corporate policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
