Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team in McLean, VA. Top Secret/SCI Polygraph required. The compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $110,000.
Job Responsibilities
As an HRBP, you will act as a partner and consultant to the business. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as an initial employee/manager point of contact for routine human resource activities including staffing, compensation, leave, recognition and morale, training and development, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and manager coaching.
- Facilitating communication between union representatives and management to ensure understanding and adherence to the terms of the union contract.
- Monitoring compliance with labor agreement terms and addressing potential violations proactively.
- Partnering with recruiting to facilitate hiring, selection, and on-boarding actions.
- Partnering with security on employee relation issues, investigations, and other shared responsibilities.
- Monitoring and tracking HR metrics for assigned contract.
- Acting as a liaison between employees, leaders, and corporate departments including benefits and payroll.
- Partnering with Program Management to identify attrition issues and trends and implement appropriate strategies to address retention challenges.
- Providing proactive guidance to managers/employees on performance management, communications and training, employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws and company policies.
- Investigating employee complaints/allegations in accordance with company protocol.
- Supporting compliance efforts, including the communication, dissemination, and implementation of company policies, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Supporting program HR and HRIS activities to include validating HRIS data accuracy, org chart alignment, option year Service Contract Act pay rate, wage, health & welfare changes, service bridge processing, vacation/leave info, and other key information.
- Responding to employment-related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Supporting program and company initiatives. Tracking and preparing reports for analysis and distribution on such activities. Helping identify best practices and making recommendations to improve the employee/manager experience including new hire assimilation, training, and performance management.
- Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Assisting with interviews, documentation, and reports.
- Driving change awareness by ongoing development of knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- Must work on site 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous SCA/Union experience.
- Experience with government contracting.
- Working knowledge of WorkDay as the HRIS.
