Assist HR team with data collection and analytics to improve workforce programs

Human Resources Intern – Summer 2026

Location: Bronx Zoo

Schedule: Fall 2026; 10-12 weeks; 16 – 24 hours per week

Stipend: ($640-$1200 total stipend) varies depending on duration & schedule; to be paid as one lump sum upon the successful completion of the internship, less applicable taxes.

You are a forward-thinking student looking to build a career in human resources. Under the guidance and direction of an experienced HR manager, you will have the opportunity and be selected to intern with one of the following teams: (note: all teams may not be recruiting an intern).

  • Learning and Talent Management
  • HR Systems and Operations
  • HR Business Partners

Learning Outcomes (vary slightly depending on specific team placement):

  • You will learn to compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using Microsoft Excel, gaining hands-on experience with real datasets such as workforce demographics, employee survey results, learning metrics, benefits data, or performance management data
  • You will learn how HR initiatives move from concept to implementation by collaborating on projects such as benefit programs, HR operations initiatives learning and development, or performance management
  • You will learn and apply best practices in research and reporting, talent management, learning and development, employee benefits, workplace policies, employee experience, and other core HR functions
  • You will learn how HR operations and information systems function behind the scenes by supporting projects that involve validating data, organizing materials, and measuring outcomes
  • You will strengthen your understanding of HR concepts by participating in group discussions and connecting your coursework to real-world practice
  • You will build essential skills and knowledge for an emerging HR professional through regular professional development sessions, shadowing opportunities, and ongoing feedback and coaching
