Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural protocols.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the presence of patients.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, maintaining accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of patient interactions and specimen collection.
• Communicate clearly and confidently with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns to foster a positive experience.
• Support a safe and professional environment by adhering to safety policies, wearing appropriate attire, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed, covering multiple locations with minimal notice.
• Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, exercising good judgment and decision-making skills.

Required Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in keyboard/data entry and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a focus on error-free work.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections; experience in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting while maintaining excellent customer focus.
