Oversee procurement and inventory for wastewater maintenance department to ensure timely operations
Job Title
This position provides highly responsible procurement assistance to the assigned department, maintaining and ensuring efficient stock of inventory parts, materials and supplies for use in the department; and performs other routine administrative, accounting and bookkeeping work as required.
Essential Job Functions
The essential job functions include handling procurement requests, managing capital improvement projects, providing technical and financial assistance, attending staff meetings, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, handling petty cash reimbursements, attending training and meetings, maintaining inventory records, communicating with vendors, preparing bid specifications, receiving goods and equipment, organizing and stocking supplies, issuing supplies to personnel, maintaining accurate records, providing administrative support, serving as back up for division administrator, assisting with divisional needs, preparing meeting agendas and packets, answering the telephone, responding to inquiries, performing routine clerical work, assisting with maintenance management systems, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work:
- High school diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of relevant prior experience
- May be required to type 30 corrected wpm
- Valid South Carolina Class "D" Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of basic arithmetic, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to summarize and format data, ability to communicate effectively, ability to handle machines and tools, ability to perform skilled work with problem-solving, ability to read and write routine sentences, ability to perform clerical and technical tasks, and ability to guide others.

Handle procurement requests of goods and services in IFAS; track and receive goods and services in IFAS, Manage the department’s Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), Provide technical and financial assistance in the preparation of assigned budgets; assist in administering grants and monitor expenditures, Handle departmental requisitions, purchasing, receiving, budget tracking, purchase order modifications and other procurement related tasks, Organizes and stocks supplies and maintains inventory records of department materials, tools and supplies
