Medical Assistant 3

The Medical Assistant 3 is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 3 performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment. The Certified Medical Assistant Rx Specialist is the first contact for patient care. The Medical Assistant supports the providers and care team by being a source of contact for calls from patients, pharmacies, and providers. The Medical Assistant will prep refills for provider's approval. The Medical Assistant Rx Specialist performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Typically work on semi-routine assignments.

Job Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant 3 performs clinical responsibilities. These responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication/vaccine administration, phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and performing diagnostic screening tests. Additionally, the Medical Assistant 3 sterilizes and cleans equipment, maintains examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions typically focus on methods and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects. The Medical Assistant 3 has advanced skills, contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth training, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified or Registered
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Current/Active CPR Certification
  • Travel to other clinics
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Other Qualifications:

  • 3+ years MA experience in PCO center
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
