Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a high-volume distribution center. This role is responsible for leading warehouse associates, optimizing workflows, maintaining productivity, and ensuring operational excellence while promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in distribution, logistics, or retail operations who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing teams while driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned warehouse departments.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate associates to achieve productivity, quality, and service goals.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and accuracy while addressing performance concerns through established coaching and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet daily operational demands.
  • Observe team performance and provide ongoing feedback and support.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement process enhancements.
  • Utilize SAP EWM or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to monitor operations and track performance.
  • Prepare daily and weekly operational reports, including productivity metrics and departmental performance.

Training & Development

  • Train and onboard new employees and temporary associates.
  • Cross-train team members to provide operational flexibility during peak periods and employee absences.
  • Coach employees to develop skills and support career growth.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

Operational Flexibility

  • Adapt quickly to changing business priorities and operational needs.
  • Support multiple departments as needed to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Prioritize competing responsibilities while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, retail, or logistics environment
  • Experience using SAP, SAP EWM, or another Warehouse Management System preferred

Skills

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Physical & Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work 40–45 hours per week, including overtime as business needs require
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties as needed
