Manufacturing Quality Inspector

Volt is hiring an Experienced Manufacturing Quality Inspector with CMM Operation/programming experience for a leading precision manufacturing company in San Diego, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity. Hiring for 1st and 2nd shift. As a Manufacturing Quality Inspector, you will:

  1. Perform mechanical and visual inspections on machined parts, sub assemblies, and assemblies using customer blueprints and specifications.
  2. Inspect parts at multiple stages including first article, in process, and final inspection.
  3. Verify materials, processes, and certifications from sub tier vendors.
  4. Complete inspection documentation in compliance with AS9100 quality standards.
  5. Utilize CMM equipment (operation and programming).
  6. Use and calibrate a wide variety of inspection tools, gauges, surface plates, and measurement equipment.

Schedule Monday – Friday 1st shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM 2nd Shift: 1:45 PM – 10:00 PM Pay Rate

  • $37.00 – $41.00 per hour (DOE)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 4 experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing or job shop environment.
  • Ability to perform complex inspection set ups.
  • Strong proficiency reading complex blueprints and performing advanced job shop math.
  • Experience with CMM operation and a broad range of inspection tools.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T, including true position tolerancing and Cartesian coordinate systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO based quality systems and documentation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PC DMIS 4.2 or newer for CMM programming.
  • Experience supporting ISO, military, or aerospace quality standards.
