Perform dimensional and visual inspections on components during weekend shift to ensure quality
Avionics Inspector
Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, prescribed specifications to inspect in process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements and in accordance with quality specifications.
Uses a variety of computer systems, statistical control processes, and may use measuring devices to perform in process, Final, and product feature inspections.
Inspects actual products on the floor and on-line. Raises notifications of non-conformance, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides scrap or Standard Rework disposition.
What You Will Do
- Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
- May use fixed or variable measuring instruments where work instructions require checking dimensions and recording results.
- Perform simple mathematical computations to determine pass/fail results based on allowed tolerance.
- Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
- Recognize need and arrange for repair or calibration of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
- Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.
- Must maintain Inspection stamp.
- Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Flexibility around shifts for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Inspection experience in a production environment
- Basic Blueprint Reading ability
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment
- Basic Computer skills
- Basic Shop Math
