Recruiter Position

McNeese State University invites applicants for the position of Recruiter in the Office of Recruiting. This is a full-time, 12–month, unclassified staff position. The appointment is available to begin immediately.

Salary: $36,000

Reporting Authority: Director of Recruiting

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective students with regard to admissions, transfer credit, residency, and other university policies
  • Assist prospective students in person, over the phone, texting, video messaging, and via email
  • Manage a recruitment territory by managing the number of inquiries, applicants, and enrolled students
  • Enter prospective student data into the Student Information System and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system as well as maintain and run reports for the assigned territories
  • Maintain current knowledge of Banner (Student Information System), Radius (CRM), BDM (scanning system), Argos, and other systems used by the University
  • Travel during and after normal business hours to represent the university at recruitment events and activities year round
  • Prepare and send correspondence to applicants
  • Maintain recruiting reports for all recruiting events attended
  • Conduct recruitment presentations on and off campus
  • Build mutually beneficial, positive working relationships with assigned high school counselors and counterparts at other institutions
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with faculty and staff in all departments
  • Organize and plan outreach opportunities with community leaders, organizations, and groups
  • Plan travel according to state travel guidelines
  • Conduct all duties in a manner which provides a positive reflection of the University
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruiting or the Executive Director for Enrollment Management

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to extensively travel and work non-traditional hours
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Effective multi-tasking and organizational skills
