Office Assistant 1 (OA1)

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will perform various clerical duties to support the agency's mission and office operations. This includes tasks such as establishing and maintaining record-keeping and filing systems, managing databases, serving as a receptionist, performing basic mathematical calculations, and copying materials.
Some of what you'll do:
- Check copy machines for paper and refilling, change toner,
- Clean and restock supplies in the copy area.
- Send faxes and distribute incoming faxes.
- Upload documents into Famlink.
- Send out dependency court hearing notices to caregivers and scan files.
- Prepare outgoing files and mail.
- Frequent travel to the post office to pick up mail.
- Distribute mail to staff mailboxes.
- Make packets for permanency, placement, foster parent, home visit, and background check applications,
- Recycle cardboard and empty the recycling bins.
- Occasional travel to the local car wash and gas station to assist with the maintenance of state vehicles.
- Answer multi-line phones and transfer calls,
- Greet and assist clients and visitors.
- Sign for deliveries.
- Take messages for staff and convey messages to and from staff to clients.
SESG Program Requirements:
Applicants and incumbents in this position must meet the following eligibility criteria for the SESG Program:
- Have a developmental disability as defined in RCW 71A.10.020; or experience a significant disability as defined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that seriously limits one or more functional capacities (such as mobility, communication, self-care, self-direction, interpersonal skills, work tolerance, or work skills) in terms of an employment outcome, including amputation, arthritis, autism, blindness, burn injury, cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, deafness, head injury, heart disease, hemiplegia, hemophilia, respiratory or pulmonary dysfunction, intellectual disability, mental illness, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, musculo-skeletal disorders, neurological disorders (including stroke and epilepsy), spinal cord conditions (including paraplegia and quadriplegia), sickle cell anemia, specific learning disability, end-stage renal disease, or another disability or combination of disabilities determined to cause comparable substantial functional limitation; AND
- Require supported employment on-the-job training and long-term support to satisfactorily perform job duties; AND
- Provide an ongoing source of long-term support to perform the duties of this position. Applicants will be required to submit medical and other information to show that they meet the criteria for the SESG Program and have a dependable source of long-term employment support.

- Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and learn new programs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate office equipment to complete daily tasks.

- Demonstrated ability to remain calm when interacting with hostile clients.
