Support on-site concrete, masonry, and carpentry operations to keep the project on schedule
Skilled Laborer
Laborers have general responsibility to provide support and assistance to the other skilled crafts working on the project. Laborers employed by Hensel Phelps provide support for the form carpenters and for the concrete operation in general, ironworkers/rodbusters involved in installing reinforcing steel, and masons involved in the installation of block and brickwork. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential duties include preparation of areas for the placement of concrete, assembly of concrete forms, handling the concrete bucket, assisting in stripping concrete forms, supporting block masons, assisting carpenters, loading and unloading materials, promoting a safe work environment, operating office machinery, and frequently communicating with employees and external stakeholders.
Position qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, adherence to safe work practices, initiative, attention to detail, reliable transportation, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in construction layout, OSHA 10 Certification, and CPR & First Aid Certification.
Physical work classification and demands include heavy work, frequent walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and fingering/typing. The position also requires climbing, working from heights, balancing, stooping, reaching, grasping, visual acuity, operating a vehicle, exposure to temperatures, noisy environments, outdoor elements, dusts, chemicals, and use of various tools.
