Transportation Coordinator
Our Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the transportation and distribution of products necessary to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. Job Responsibilities include prioritizing waves of product to be picked to meet priorities of established shipping schedules, processing rapid delivery, courier and will calls, ensuring orders are grouped and released in the most efficient manner, adhering to the rules and guidelines by which product will be picked in the warehouse to fulfill customer orders, analyzing the optimal number of trucks/containers needed to transport product shipments based on the required schedule, closing and dispatching all outbound trailers daily prior to end of shift, generating orders and metric reports to warehouse workers, following mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct, adhering to the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace, and performing additional duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications include monitoring and coordinating the transportation and distribution of products necessary to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs, familiarity with a computerized warehouse system preferred, and a rate of pay of $65,500 per year (salaried, non-exempt).
Work Experience includes 1-3 years of related job experience, ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment, excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong planning and organization skills, and warehouse experience required preferably working in a distribution environment.
Education includes a high school diploma/GED preferred.
Working Conditions include regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur, exposure to loud noise, exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.
Physical Requirements include the ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 – 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack, walking/standing throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders, sitting only when driving sit-down material handling equipment, lifting items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance, stooping when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations, and kneeling when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
