Own the day-to-day veterinary clinic operations and customer service for VIP Petcare at Tractor Supply.
Veterinary Clinic Assistant-VIP Petcare
Provides convenient and affordable pet health and wellness products and veterinary services to pets and their families through retail and ecommerce channels across the country. Essential duties and responsibilities include collecting payment, dispensing and labeling medication, safely restraining pets for wellness procedures, collecting and preparing samples for laboratory testing, driving vans responsibly, making recommendations for services and products, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, executing inventory processes, promoting a culture of safety, providing customer service, achieving goals set by the manager, scanning pets for microchips, preparing vaccines, establishing relationships with pet parents and partners, and other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include being 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license, previous customer service sales experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities include presenting a professional appearance, punctuality, navigating computer software, strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, working within a team, approaching customers to educate about clinics, and adapting to changing priorities.
Working conditions include driving a company vehicle for long hours in various terrain and weather conditions, working for prolonged periods of time in the field, including 12–14-hour days, working weekends, varied weekdays and times, and occasional overnights. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/stooping/bending, driving a vehicle, and lifting up to 10 pounds, up to 20 pounds, and up to 50 pounds.
Collect payment, dispense and label medication, and review discharge paperwork with pet parents, Safely restrain / hold pets for wellness procedures including vaccines, nail trims and microchipping, Collect and prepare blood and fecal samples for laboratory testing, Drive vans to and from clinics responsibly; load and unload the vans upon arrival and departure, Provide customer service to pet parents by answering questions and assisting them through the clinic process
