Job Description
Coordinate materials flow to ensure timely availability for Fremont project operations
Material Coordinator
The Material Coordinator ensures the right materials are available at the right time and place to support project and operations work. The role manages planning signals, receiving, inventory accuracy, kitting, shortage recovery, and coordination across procurement, warehouse, and field execution teams.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and track materials from requisition through receipt, inspection, storage, kitting, issue, and return.
- Maintain inventory accuracy via cycle counts, system transactions, and discrepancy resolution in ERP/WMS.
- Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, logistics, engineering, and field teams to prevent shortages and excess.
- Process receiving, quarantine, MRB, and non-conformance material workflows per quality procedures.
- Expedite critical path materials; maintain shortage reports and recovery actions with owners and dates.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage conditions, shelf-life control, and documentation for traceability.
- Recommend inventory optimizations, min/max adjustments, and process improvements (L4-L5).
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree or materials/logistics coursework preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Experience in materials coordination, warehouse, supply chain, or construction materials aligned to Job Leveling Matrix level.
- Competency with inventory transactions and basic ERP/WMS navigation; strong Excel skills.
- Ability to read BOMs, packing lists, and basic drawings/part numbers; high accuracy under time pressure.
- Authorization to work; ability to pass background check and site safety requirements.
- Ability to work in warehouse/yard environments including standing, walking, and occasional lifting per site rules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP MM/WM, Oracle Inventory, Maximo, or equivalent.
- Construction or turnaround/outage materials experience.
- Knowledge of receiving inspection and quality hold processes.
- CSCP, CPIM, or similar supply chain credentials (L3+).
Typical deliverables:
- Material readiness / shortage reports tied to schedule.
- Accurate inventory transactions and cycle count results.
- Kitting completeness records and issue tickets.
- Expedite logs, receiving exception reports, and traceability packs.
